Bárbara Mori is a February 2, 1978 born actress and is of Uruguayan and Japanese descent. Her paternal grandfather was Japanese while mother is an Uruguayan.
After her parents got divorced when she was only three years old, Barbara shuttled between Uruguay and Mexico, till she finally settled in Mexico city when she was twelve years old.
Barbara has a son Sergio who was born in 1998 with her partner Sergio Mayer, who is also an actor .
Barbara began modelling when she was fourteen years old and was spotted when she was working as a waitress.
Since she was serious about an acting career, she studied acting at the El Centro de Estudios de Formación Actoral.
Her first acting job was in a Mexican telenovela Al norte del corazón.

This light eyed beauty began as a model and then was recognised in 1998 as an actress when she got a chance as a telenovela actress in Azul Tequila, a soap opera, with the TV channel TV Azteca.
Her work was recognised in her country and she has received many awards for her acting including the prestigious first TVyNovelas Award for her role in Mirada de mujer for Best New Actress.

She has also been part of films in Mexico, some of which have been very successful including the film film La mujer de mi hermano in 2005 where she played the character of Zoe.
Barbara Mori came into the public limelight in India in 2008, when she was cast opposite Hrithik Roshan in Rakesh Roshan’s ambitious production Kites.
There was a big buzz around her as the scope of the film was global and also because of her alleged blossoming relationship with Hrithik and a subsequent rift between Hrithik and his wife.
But, after the film did not perform well at the box office, Barbara was no longer in the news and the young Roshan couple was together, once more.
Barbara is a brave cancer survivor who faced her dreaded disease with dignity and strength.
She has taken part in a docu-drama titled 1 a Minute, directed by Namrata Singh Gujral, where she has spoken of the journey she has been through as she battled her disease. The docu- drama also features many other prominent cancer survivors like Olivia Newton-John, Melissa Etheridge and Lisa Roy and features Life guru Deepak Chopra.
Barbara won her second TVyNovelas Award for the very popular Mexican soap opera Rubi.
She was born in Montevideo, Uruguay.
She has two siblings, a brother Kintaró Mori and sister Kenya Mori, who is also an actress.
She got a chance in movies when she played a part in her first movie in 2000, in the Mexican comedy “Inspiración” opposite Arath De La Torre.
Barbara has used her image of a cancer survivor positively to support various support charitable causes such as the fight against breast cancer in Mexico.
