Celina Jaitley was born on the 24th of November, 1981 in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. She has a mixed Indian-Afghan parentage; her father, Colonel V.K. Jaitly was in the Indian Army, her mother, Meera is an Afghani who is also a former beauty queen and works as a child psychologist. Celina’s brother in an Indian Army officer.

As an army brat, she did her schooling from all over India including Lucknow, Kashmir Valley and the north eastern states. She is a graduate of St Joseph’s College, Berhampur.
Celina started her modeling career as a teen at the age of 16 years and was crowned Miss India at the 2001 pageant. She was a runner up at the Miss Universe pageant in the same year.

She debuted in Bollywood when she was picked up as the leading lady, by actor-director Feroze Khan for his son’s debut film Janasheen, in 2003. In 2007, she appeared in her first international film Love Has No Language. She went on to do some more movies; most of them were unsuccessful at the box office. Her major hit was the film Golmaal Returns which fetched her many awards for her acting.
