Bollywood heartthrob Hrithik Roshan wed his childhood sweetheart Suzanne Roshan nee Khan on December 20th, 2000 at the Golden Palms resort in Bangalore. He rose to fame overnight with his debut film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai which was a superhit worldwide. He garnered a huge fan base especially among women of all ages. But soon after the success of Kao Naa Pyaar Hai this hunk broke many hearts by tying the knot and entering wedlock with his childhood friend Suzanne Khan.
Hrithik fell in love with Suzanne Roshan when he saw her at a traffic signal. Suzanne though has a different story to tell. She says that though she and Hrithik knew each other since childhood, love happened only after she returned from the US after completing her graduation in Associate Art Degree course in Interior Designing. Suzanne who was shy by nature, had undergone a change and had gained enough confidence independence once she returned. This quality seemed to impress Hrithik who had not made his Bollywood debut yet. Although they kept bumping into each other and admired each other much the couple could never voice their feelings or emotions aloud. They turned into best friends as they kept meeting each other and then one day Love suddenly happened!
Hrithik and Suzanne’s parents Rakesh Roshan and Sanjay Khan planned the wedding ceremony at Golden Palms resort in Bangalore away from the hustle bustle of Mumbai. Hrithik wanted it to be a quiet event and therefore it was a simple affair with family and few close friends. The friend list included, Jeetendra, Prem Chopra, Rishi Kapoor, Dabboo Ratnani, Sujit Kumar, Farhad Nathani and Faroukh Ruttonsey.

The engagement was held on the 19th and the marriage took place on 20th December, 2000. The couple stood in front of a pool and signed the marriage register at 9 p.m and were declared man and wife. There was no nikaah or hindu ceremony. But earlier in the day Hrithik had a haldi ceremony. Whats more, they even took the baaraat with Hrithik riding a horse.
Hrithik Roshan wore a Rocky S outfit which was a 3 layered angarakha in off-white with heavy work in dull gold all over the outfit which was in spun organza and crushed tissue. Hrithik also wore a crushed Duppatta around his neck and another around his arm and shoulder. The bridegroom look was completed with a turban over his head and mojris.
The beautiful couple unfortunately announced their separation in 2013. We do hope and pray that we see them together gain in the future.
