Hrithik Roshan, popularly known as the Greek God of Bollywood is the most talked about actor among millions of youngsters as well as the middle aged group. He was born on January 10, in the year 1974, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. His parents are Pinky Roshan and actor turned director, Rakesh Roshan. He is the nephew of well known music director, Rajesh Roshan. He did his schooling from Bombay Scottish School. After schooling, he pursued B.com for his further studies from the prestigious Sydenham College. He was a very bright studentand holds a first class bachelor’s degree. In fact, he scored a scholarship in masters from ULCA. But he turned down the offer as he was always interested in entering the film industry. Hrithik stands tall at a great height of 6 feet 2 inches. His birth name is ‘Hrithik Roshan Nagrath’. He is popularly known by his nickname ‘Duggu’, by close friends and family members. His favourite actors are Raj Kapoor and Amitabh Bachhan. Among actresses, his favourites are Madhuri Dixit, Madhubala and Kajol. He loves Indian Food. Black is his one of his favourite colours. His hobbies are watching movies and working out in his private gym.
Hrithik got married to long time girlfriend and sweetheart, Sussanne Khan, daughter of popular actor, Sanjay Khan, on 20th December, 2000. The couple is blessed with two sons, named, Hrehaan and Hridaan.
The handsome hunk was introduced in front of the camera, at the age of 6, by his paternal grandfather, J. Om Prakash, without the actor’s knowledge, while he came to visit his grandfather on the sets of the film ‘Aasha’ in the year 1980. He danced and it was shot secretly by the crew members, on his grandpa’s advice. Next he worked as a child actor, in the film ‘Bhagwaan Dada’ in the year 1986, in which he played the key role as Rajnikanth’s adopted son.
Later, he gained recognition by starring in father Rakesh Roshan’s film ‘Kaho naa…Pyaar hai’. He was paired opposite actress and friend Amisha Patel. The actor established himself in the film industry by proving his acting skills in his debut movie, where he played dual roles. First he played the role of ‘Rohit’, the romantic hero, then ‘Raj’, the action hero.
The talented actor bagged lead roles in many popular blockbuster movies thereafter, like ‘Fizaa’, ‘Mission Kashmir’, ‘Koi Mil Gayaa’, ‘Krrish’, ‘Lakshya’, ‘Aap Mujhe Achhe Lagne Lage’, Na Tum Jaano Na Hum’, ‘Yaadein’, ‘Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam’, ‘Dhoom 2’, ‘Guzaarish’, ‘Kites’, ‘Agneepath’, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara’, to name a few.
The brown eyed actor has a never ending list of upcoming movies in the years 2013-14. To start with, pa Rakesh Roshan’s ‘Krrish 3’, tops the list. ‘Krrish 3’ is a sequel to 2007 release ‘Krrish’. Actors ‘Viveik Oberoi’, ‘Priyanka Chopra’, ‘Kangana Ranaut’, ‘Nargis Fakhri’, ‘Rakhi Sawant’ etc. are the others who are to be seen playing lead roles in the action film.
It is one of the most awaited releases and is expected to go on floors on November 2013. The movie took almost 5 years to shoot and contains a lot of visual special effects, worked over by Red Chillies Entertainment.
Hrithik, in a recent interview revealed that the movie has got innumerable stunts, which took a lot of time and finally shooting wrapped up on December last year. Only some of the special effects are left to be shot and this is the only movie releasing this year.
Next comes director Sidhharth Anand’s‘Bang Bang’ (tentatively titled) opposite actress ‘Katrina Kaif’. The film is adapted from the original Hollywood version,‘Knight and Day’.
Shooting for the official remake of the Hollywood movie is supposed to start from mid February and some part of the film will be shot in the Paradise of Heaven-Kashmir. Stunt director of Hollywood movies ‘Rambo’ has been invited to choreograph the action sequences. The movie hits screens on May’14.
Director Shekhar Kapoor’s‘Paani’ follows the list, which stars Hrithik in the lead along with actress Anushka Sharma. The superstar reveals that working with Shekar Kapoor has been his lifelong dream and ‘Paani’ is one of his dream projects. The film will be produced by Yash Raj Films. At present, the film is under pre-production and is slated to release on July 2014.
The six pack actor will next be seen in Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Kismat Talkies’, also starring actresses Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles. The ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara’ director said that Hrithik is her favourite actor and she wants to cast him in almost all her movies. The film is yet to be officially announced.
The Greek God’s long list of upcoming movies also include Rajiv S. Ruia’s ‘Main Krishnaa Hoon’ starring Katrina Kaif, Juhi Chawla, Mishti Mukerji, Rajneesh Duggal etc. and is expected to release on December’14.
The ‘Agneepath’ hero also signed the biggest Dharma Production film ‘Shuddhi’. It will be directed by director Karan Malhotra-the Agneepath fame. The film is based on some tale of reincarnation and will bring back the most lovable onscreen pair- Kareena and Hrithik together who last shared screen space 10 years ago in ‘Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon’. It hits screens on Diwali 2014.
