The gorgeous Mandira Bedi was born on the 15th of April, 1972. This Arien, though brought up in Mumbai, Maharashtra since the age of five, was born in Kolkata, Paschimbanga. She is a Punjabi and her father is Verinder Singh Bedi, an employee of ICI and mother is Gita Bedi.

Mandira got married to director Raj Kaushal on Valentine’s Day in 1999. They have a son, Vir, who was born on the 19th of June, 2011. Mandira has acted in her husband’s film Shaadi Ka Ladoo, and associated in the filming of the film Dus Kahaniyan.
Mandira has been involved in some controversies, but for which she was quick to do damage control and appease the annoyed parties.
She got the Sikh community riled when she appeared on the ramp flaunting the ‘Ek Omkar’ symbol on her nape. The symbol which means God is One, are a symbol of the first words of the Sikh scripture. Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) in 2007 warned her to remove the tattoo and she was quick to apologise for her tattoo and hurting the religious sentiments of the Sikhs and promised that she would get it erased surgically.

When people pointed out that according to the Indian Constitution, wearing the Triclour, waist down is considered a disrespect to the National flag, she quickly apologised for the deed.

Mandira’s believes in de-stressing by exercising. She works out for five days a week, and pushes herself for a minimum of one hour and sometimes an hour and a half. When she finds herself busy with a shoot or something else, she makes sure to use the treadmill for half an hour, at least. She also likes to mix yoga with her regular workouts. For gaining calmness and serenity, she chants Buddhist mantras, daily.
She ensures that she spends quality time with her family and friends as a means of no only strengthening relationships, but also to improve one’s mood and spirits.
