Currently, Surbhi Jyoti is the hottest topic of gossip in almost all television shows. She was born on 29th May in the year 1987 and hails from Jalandhar, Punjab. She belongs to a conservative Punjabi Brahmin family. Her father is a businessman and owns a rubber chemical factory, and her mother is a homemaker. She has got a younger brother, named Sooraj Jyoti who is pursuing his B.tech in engineering. Surbhi received her schooling from Shiv Jyoti Public School. After her schooling, she pursued her graduation from HMP (Hansraj Morarji Public) College. She also holds an M.A degree in English. She did her post graduation from Apeejay College of Fine arts.
The pretty starlet says that her family has been very supportive in her acting career from the very beginning. In fact, she started her career as a theatre actress and has been into theatre from the past seven years. Her family has been sweet enough to let her shift to Mumbai, where she stays with one of her cousins. But her mother misses her a lot at times and starts crying, and she consoles her mother by saying that someday she would become a lecturer in a reputed college, as she holds an M.A degree.

Surbhi was next seen in the serial ‘Kach Diyan Wanga’, also aired on Alpha ETC Punjabi. Here, she played the role of a simple girl named Preet. The show ran from July 11, 2011 – 2012.
The 5 feet, 6 inch actress was also cast in some Punjabi films. Her debut Punjabi movie was Munde Patiale De in the year 2012. She played the role of a supporting actress in the movie, named Priyanka.

Surbhi Jyoti shifted to Mumbai to try her hand on the silver screen. Luck favoured her as she got a call from Four Lions Production’s Gul ma’m to come for an audition for the role of Zoya. She received an sms congratulating her for getting selected. That’s how she managed to bag the lead role in the popular Muslim show Qubool Hai. Qubool Hai is the next serial with a Muslim background after the daily soap, ‘Heena’.
In the serial Qubool Hai, Surbhi portrays the character of an NRI, named Zoya Farooqui. Since it is a serial with a Muslim backdrop, she had to watch a few Pakistani shows like Humsafar and Dhoop Kinaare in order to get prepared for the same. In the daily soap, Zoya (Surbhi) hails from New York, where she stays with her aapy (elder sister) and Jiju (brother in law). She comes to India in search of her father and stays with some of her far off relatives.She is paired opposite Mr. Asad Ahmed Khan, played by heartthrob ‘Karan Singh Grover, Dr. Armaan of ‘Dill Mill Gayye’ fame and last seen in a cameo role in channel V’s Dil Dosti Dance.
The story revolves round three characters- Miss Zoya Farooqui, an NRI and two brothers, Asad and Ayaan, played by newcomer Rishab Sinha (now replaced by actor Vikrant Massey). Zoya is a mischievous, lively, naughty and messy girl, who falls in love with Mr. Khan, a cleanliness freak. But still they share a great onscreen chemistry and make the hottest couple. She didn’t have to struggle much for portraying this role as she is very much like Zoya in her real life, smiles Miss Farooqui of Qubool Hai. She gained popularity and recognition due to the show. The show went on air on 29th October, 2012.
As the show comprises of a young cast, shooting for the serial is double fun. At first, Surbhi was unaware of actor Karan Singh Grover’s popularity and fan following as she is not much into daily soaps.She had just seen him in one of the episodes of Khataron Ke Khiladi (Fear Factor). But she says that he is a very down to earth person, despite his fame. He is a fun loving guy in reality and is also a very humble person. He has been very supportive and encouraging towards her. She is being pampered on the sets as a newcomer. She feels amazing to be a part of the show and has also changed and learnt a lot. Being in theatre helped her a lot.
Apart from this, the Qubool Hai girl was also seen in small roles in some of the popular reality shows like Holi Ladakhpan Ki in a special dance performance with her co-star ‘Karan Singh Grover’, telecast on Zee Tv.
Other popular fiction shows include comedy show India’s Best Dramebaaz in which she made a special appearance. She was also seen in Zee Rishtey Awards, 2012, where Surbhi did a special dance performance with ‘Karan’.
The talented actress is much attracted to reality shows as she finds it very adventurous, thrilling as well as entertaining. She is also very fond of watching cricket matches. She says that she never thought of being a part of TV show mania like Qubool Hai and believes it to be sheer luck.
The dusky beauty claims to be single and ready to mingle. Not much is known about her relationship status. Sources reveal that she has never been into a relationship as she did not find the man of her dreams yet.
