Tamannaah is one of the biggest superstar in the South Indian Film industry. A Sindhi by birth, Tamannaah carved a niche for herself in the South Indian Film industry by appearing in super-hit movies like Happy Days, Padikathavan, Ayan, Paiyaa and Siruthai. There are very few female actors who can turn heads and bring the audiences to the theater and Tamannaah Bhatia is one of them.
Tamannaah started her career with a low budget Bollywood movie called Chand Sa Roshan Chehra directed by Salim. The movie flopped badly at the box office and she failed to make her mark in Bollywood. She was slammed by the critics very badly for her wooden performance. After the failure of this movie, Tamannaah did not take a back seat, instead she choose the Southern Film industry as her next step, and this proved to be the best decision of her life. Te lady debuted with Sri, a Telugu movie in the year 2005 followed by a Tamil movie Kedi in the year 2007. These two movies fetched her the much needed recognition and she gained recognition down South.
Tamannaah was born in the year 1989, on 21st December to Santosh Bhatia and Rajani Bhatia. She has an elder brother named Anand, who is elder to her. Tamannaah always led a very secure and normal lifestyle during her school and college days but she was always inspired by the film industry. She was born to become an actress. At the tender age of 13, she took part in a school skit and acting became a passion for her after that.
Tamannaah did her schooling and college from Mumbai, Maharashtra. Tamannaah always had an interest in pursuing a career in acting and the glamour world always beckoned her. She was supported and encouraged to pursue it by her family, friends and peers. Initially she had to struggle like any other aspirant from a non-filmi background. She did small modeling assignments and got a role in the music video “Lafzon me keh na saku” sung by Abhijeet Sawant, the winner of a famous music hunt. The song was a huge hit and Tamannah was appreciated for her beauty and grace.
Her career in the south indian film industry was no cake walk. She experienced many Box office failures before she delivered a hit. Tamannaah Bhatia improved her acting skills and succeeded in climbing the ladder of success by delivering hits like Happy Days, Padikathavan, Ayan, Paiyaa and Siruthai. She slowly gained her foothold in Kollywood and was informally referred to as the “Queen of Kollywood”
Tamannah chucked all the inhibitions and showed her bold side to Kollywood. Her attractive and seductive avatar made hearts flutter. She, with her bold and sexy image swept the Southern film industry and bagged many roles against the most successful heroes in the industry. She went on to act in Kandein Kadhalai which was the remake of the super hit Hindi movie Jab We Met and was praised for his brilliant performance by the critics. This was followed by movies like Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam with Siddharth, Padikathavan opposite Dhanush, Paiyaa opposite Karthi, Sura with Vijay, and Thillalangadi co-starring Jayam Ravi. All these movies gave her tremendous success and made her the most sought after actress of 2011. That particular year proved to be the luckiest in her career. Tamannaah won the CineMAA Award for Best Actress, apart from receiving nominations at various award ceremonies.
Tamannaah Bhatia’s hot personality won her hearts of many fans and co-stars. Loads of marriage proposals came her way but she concentrated on her career rejecting all those proposals. Her tremendous success resulted in her getting an offer from Sajid Khan in his flick Himmatwala, a remake of the original with the same name. She apparently has another Hindi movie lined up opposite Akshay Kumar.
Post 2011, Tamannah starred in the flick Vikramarkudu opposite Karthi but failed to impress the critics who tagged her as nothing more than an arm-candy. Not lacking fire, this beautiful lass appeared in her first major hit of 2012, Rachaa, alongside actor Ram Charan Teja. She won accolades for her performance and got tagged as one of the leading and in-demand actresses in Tollywood. Post Rachaa, she starred opposite Pawan Kalyan in Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu which was declared a blockbuster. The gorgeous Tamannah managed to star alongside all established actors like Dhanush, Surya, Vijay, Junior NTR, Allu Arjun and Prabhas. She has often been called an actor’s favorite actress. This diva is a powerhouse of talent and hence aptly named as the Queen of Tollywood.
