Since 1999, Vaibhavi has been the choreographer to go to for Bollywood directors and producers; she has been a part of almost all top Bollywood movies for more than a decade. This 1975 born lady has wowed the movie audiences in different types of dance styles; she has been equally creative choreographing village dances as well as urban ones.
Vaibhavi has received many awards for her work including the National Film Award for Best Choreography in 2000 for the song “Dholi Taaro Dhol Baaje” from the movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. The ethos of Gujarat was brilliantly brought out by her choreography and was picturised on Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai.

In 2001, Vaibhavi was once again a part of the Oscar nominee film Lagaan for many of their songs including the beautiful “O Ri Chhori” picturised on Aamir Khan and Gracy Singh. The song was shot in Bhuj and also Banni. According to reports, she didn’t have too much time to compose the dance and finally shot it in four trips to Bhuj.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known to be a perfectionist and he chose Vaibhavi to be the choreographer for some of the songs for the 2002 film Devdas including “Bairi Piya” that was picturised on Aishwarya Rai.
In 2003, Vaibhavi again showed her talent in the film Baghban including the fun song “ Meri Makhana” that was picturised on Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini. The new generation of movie goers was entranced by Hema Malini, once again. The dance steps were fun, yet dignified as befitted their ages.
Farhan Akhtar’s coming-of-age movie Lakshya was the high profile movie of 2004. The amazingly fun choreography of “Agar Mein Kahoon” wowed everyone and Hrithik Roshan’s dance moves were kept casual and in keeping with the conversational mood of the song, with his co-star, Preity Zinta.

In 2005, she was finally recognized for her stupendous talent when she choreographed for the song “Kajra Re” that soon turned into a national craze, The film Bunty Aur Babli went on to become a huge blockbuster and her song was a huge part of that success. According to reports, she took five days to shoot with Amitabh, Abhishek and Aishwarya. This movie was the beginning of a special bonding and pairing between Vaibhavi and Rani Mukherjee, the lead actress of the movie.
Dhoom 2 was the big commercial hit of 2006 and Vaibhavi got a chance to choreograph for this film too. “Crazy Kiya Re” was the groovy number to which Aishwarya danced and the song was an oft repeated one in sundry dance competitions and shows.

2007 was supposed to be the big comeback year for Madhuri Dixit and the vehicle was the film Aaja Nachle. Though the song “Aaja Nachle” was disliked by the audience probably because of the erstwhile reputation of Madhuri’s, the dance was critically acclaimed and suited the character of Madhuri’s who was supposed to be a mother in the film.
The 2008 film Dostana celebrated friendships between different genders and had a contemporary feel and look. She choreographed for the song “Jaane Kyun” and kept the fun quotient in mind for the actors Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham.
In 2008, she also choreographed for another high profile Shahrukh Khan film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. The song “Haule Haule” was a charmingly composed song with Shahrukh in his ordinary get up.
The film Delhi-6 may have not performed well at the box office, but its music, songs, especially the wonderful “Masakalli” is remembered till today. Sonam Kapoor and a bird carried the song to great success.
The song “Ainvayi Ainvayi” was an amazingly up beat song that had choreography which made you want to get up and dance too, in the 2010 surprise hit Band Baaja Baraat featuring Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh.
In 2011, Ranveer Singh got another chance to dance for Vaibhavi for the film Ladies vs Ricky Bahl . She was appreciated by many organizations and the naughty song “Kyan Karun Kya Ladies” captured the essence of the film and the protagonist’s character, effectively.
