Despite being a vegetarian, she feels that the addition of eggs to her diet has helped her keep her weight under control. She has rice and chapati, but makes sure that she doesn’t mix the two. She does the same for fruits and wouldn’t think of mixing apples and oranges.
Vidya loves having juice and the wheatgrass and amla concoctions, in particular. She has replaced dry fruits as a better alternative, to satisfy her sweets craving, though she occasionally has chocolates and masala tea. She likes her bread maida free and multi grain instead.

When Vidya was told by her Dirty Picture director, Milan Luthria to pile on the kilos to essay South siren Silk Smita’s character in the film, she diligently went through a diet rich in cream biscuits, chocolates, bananas and almonds and indulged in calorific pastas and burgers between shots!
