Hot gossips about the charming actress Zarine Khan are in the air now. She was born and brought up into a Muslim, Pathan family in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She was born on 14th May, 1984. After completing her schooling from Delhi Public School, Panipat, she went to Rizwi College where she took up science. She aspired to become a doctor.
But she had to discontinue her education due to financial troubles in her family. She was forced to earn some money to run her family. Zarine, as such, had no plans of choosing acting as her career option. However, she tried her luck in modeling.She stands tall at 5 feet, 8’1/2 inches.
She had to lose weight as she had to get into shape in order to go for modeling. Initially, she weighed around 100 kgs. She worked out six days a week for at least 1 hour each. She managed to earn quite a lot of money to cope up with family problems, after a few modeling assignments.

The bubbly actress was discovered by Salman Khan on the sets of ‘Yuvraaj’, when she visited Subhash Ghai’s school of acting, Whistling Woods. It was then that luck favoured her. Salman Khan decided to cast her in the role of ‘Princess Yashodhara’ in his movie ‘Veer’ as he found her appropriate for the role of the sweet faced princess.
She was confirmed for the character of princess Yashodhara after a screen test. She had to put on almost 8 kgs weight to look perfect for the role of the 19th century princess. In order to gain weight and look chubby to fit the role, she switched on to a chocolate diet.
The movie failed in the box office which made it quite difficult for her to bag roles in big budget movies. Though the movie could not hit box office success, she gained sufficient media attention.
She also got nominated for ‘Zee Cine Awards 2011’, for the title of ‘Best Female Debut’, ‘The Global Indian Film And Television Honors 2011’ for ‘Most Promising Fresh Face – Female’, ‘Stardust Award’ for ‘Superstar Of Tomorrow – Female’ also in the year 2011, to name a few, for this movie.
The 29 year old girl also made a special appearance in Aneez Bazmee’s ‘Ready’. She played a cameo role of a runaway bride in the film named ‘Khushi’. She also did an item number ‘Character Dheela’ in the film opposite Salman Khan. She is seen parodying the character from ‘Mughal-E-Azam’, ‘Sholay’ and ‘Shri 420’in the song. The song became a blockbuster hit.
Zarine Khan starred in Sajid Khan’s rom-com movie ‘Housefull 2’ where she was cast opposite actor ‘Riteish Deshmukh’, in the year 2012. The film is a sequel to 2010 release, ‘Housefull’. She portrays the character of ‘JLo’, a model who falls in love with ‘Jolly’ (Riteish), the son of a billionaire dacoit, played by Mithun.
The star cast also comprises of other actors in the lead role like ‘Akshay Kumar’, ‘Asin Thottumkal’, ‘John Abraham’, Jacqueline Fernandez’, ‘Shreyas Talpade’ and ‘Shahzahn Padamsee’ along with Mithun Chakraborty, Boman Irani, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and Chunky Pandey (who plays the role of a marriage counselor) in supporting roles. It was a huge commercial success and reached a worldwide gross of almost 186 crore. It received an overwhelming response in the box office as well. The movie became the 10th film in history to cross the expected budget of 100 crores.
The blue eyed beauty also tried her hand in the Tamil film industry. She bagged roles in some tamil movies such as director Prithvi Rajkumar’s ‘Naan Rajavaga Pogiren’, written by Vetrimaaran. She will be seen doing an item song in the movie. Next comes ‘Karikalan’ in which she will portray the character of ‘Velir princess’, directed by Gandhi Krishna. It hits screens in this year itself.
The stunning actress signed her two big releases of the year; one of them is actor turned director Sohail Khan’s ‘Partner 2’, the sequel to 2008 release ‘Partner’, where she will be seen replacing actress ‘Katrina Kaif’. Also actors Salman Khan and Govinda will be seen in the movie. The film is under pre production and is slated to release in 2013. Not much in known about the other untitled film.
